VW Golf Mk2 Heaters not working

Are your heaters only blowing on one speed?? This fault is usually down to the blower motor resistor. This is generally available from all VW parts specialists and costs around the £20.00 mark. Its a fairly simple job to replace and requires no specialist tools. ON RHD models , in the passenger side foot well underneath the dashboard is a removable foam type cover , remove this.

This reveals the blower motor. To remove this is a case of twisting it then it will drop down. If this hasnt been removed for a long time it can be very very stiff and may have some sticky style glue holding it in place. Be persistent it will come. The resistor is located on the side of the motor. It takes 2 mins to replace it. Simple.
